Fleadh Cheoil

Congratulations to Holly Archard, Aisling Slater, Juliette Kerin and Kadence McCarthy who represented Nenagh College at Fleadh Cheoil Thiobraid Árann this week in Ballina. The girls performed exceptionally well and did themselves and our school proud. Well done and thank you to Ms.Purcell, Ms.Quigley and Ms.Hartnett for their work with the group.

1st Year Girls Basketball

The 1st Year Girls Basketball Team were runners up in the Limerick Area 1st Year Cup on May 13th in Limerick Educate Together Secondary School. Emma Ryan scored the winning basket in the last seconds of the semi-final to secure a one point victory over Nano Nagle. The team was narrowly beaten in the final by Mungret Community College despite great performances by Olibhia Mulhall and Ally Ryan in particular. The team was captained by our top scorer for the tournament Michelle O’Halloran.

Nenagh College Lip Sync Battle 2019

The battle lines have been drawn and the stage has been set. Get ready for the Nenagh College Lip Sync Battle 2019 – this Thursday 16th May – doors open @ 7pm! Tickets €5 can be bought now in School Canteen or on the night at the door. All proceeds go to the Living Links organisation. A fantastic night of entertainment for all!!

5LCA Administration and the Office Environment

Ms O Keeffe would like to thank Ms Brid Fitzgerald (Nenagh College office Administrator) who gave an informative talk to 5LCA students about the role of an administrator in an office environment. Students really enjoyed the talk and learned about a wide range of functions carried out in a busy office.

Darkness into Light 2019

Many students from Nenagh College volunteered on 11th May to ensure that Darkness into Light was another huge success in Nenagh. Students from across the school took part in the walk. Symbolically the walk represents the therapeutic counselling journey which many people take in life. It sparks conversation about the importance of mental health and wellbeing in all our lives.

Well done to Andrew Morelli and Liuba Osmari who volunteered to do face painting and Aggie Mulqueen who managed the front of house, ensuring everyone got their T Shirt.

Pieta House offer counselling services which help in the global fight against suicide.

ETB Walk 2019

SciFest 2019

Well done to our second year students who showcased their Science projects at SciFest in LIT, Thurles on Thursday, May 2nd.

They were accompanied by their Science teachers Angela Kearney, Maire Ni Chofaigh and Paula Hannigan.

Aine Corrigan Forde, David Toohey and Aoife Cusack received the ‘Special Award for Life Sciences’ for their project on ‘how much of our school waste can be composted’.

 

Girls Camogie

Well done to Aoife Hogan, Katie Ryan Donnellan and Molly Ryan who were part of the Silvermines Camogie team that won the U 14 County Final versus Ballina on Easter Monday, 22nd April.
