3D Printing

Students in the Technology Department at Nenagh College were aiding with the assembly, and also showcasing their design skills using the newly added 3D printer. 3D printing is an additive manufacturing process that creates a physical object from a digital design.

Students will now benefit from bringing their design ideas to life though the use of CAD, with the added bonus of being able to prototype with models.Pictured are some of our third year students designing and manufacturing a required part for their Junior Certificate Engineering project.

Minor Boys Soccer

Our Minor B boys soccer team recently played their opening round fixture against a strong Patrician Presentation School Fethard side. After a closely contested  first half our superior fitness helped us pull away in the second half, winning on a score line of 5-3.

We await our next round fixture

PISA guest speaker

As part of our Leaving Cert Politics and Society course, we were delighted to welcome Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022 representative Brenda as a guest speaker to discuss an overview of PISA 2022 reading literacy, science and mathematics assessment and survey.

PISA 2022

The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is a project of the organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD). About 80 countries take part, making PISA the largest study of its kind. PISA assesses the skills and knowledge of 15- and 16-year-olds in three areas reading literacy, science and mathematics, every three years. The first cycle of PISA took place in 2000, and in 2022,  mathematics will be the main focus.
170 schools have been selected to participate, 46 students from each school.
This is a great opportunity for our school but also for our 46 students that have been chosen to participate.

An Triail

Chuaigh daltaí ó ranganna Gaeilge Ardleibhéal sa 5ú bliain agus 6ú bliain chuig amharclann Siamsa Tíre i dTrá Lí an Céadaoin seo caite chun freastal ar dhráma na hArdteistméireachta ‘An Triail’. Bhí lá iontach ag gach duine.

Higher Level Irish students from 5th and 6th year travelled to the Siamsa Tíre theatre in Tralee last Wednesday to see the production of the Irish play ‘An Triail’. Students study this play over the course of their Leaving Cert. A great day was had by all.
