To celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 5th March and promote widespread reading, the English Department at Nenagh College are holding a Facebook competition to encourage the wider community to share their own book recommendations.
To be in for a chance of winning a book voucher, simply comment the Facebook post with the name of your favourite book. The winner will be announced on Friday.

In Ireland we are focusing on 5 Goals, by supporting Fairtrade you and your organisation are making a strong commitment at a local level and at a global level, Fairtrade works with governments, NGOs, commercial partners and other actors on key areas including living income and living wage, climate change, and human rights.
Fairtrade is also extending the way it engages with companies that are increasingly working towards sustainable supply chains.

The Irish Heart National fundraising campaign in February, aims to empower Irish women to look after their heart health while also raising vital funds.
‘By Going Red for Women this February, members of the public can support the Irish Heart Foundation’s work in communities across Ireland, raising awareness of and helping to prevent deaths from cardiovascular disease. There are more deaths from heart disease than from cancer amongst women and 80% are preventable’
Thank you to Paul Tarpey Lsad and Mike Fox who facilitated our 1st year Art Tour today, students were introduced to the murals designed by Limerick Drawout Artists. Contemporary Artist AIDS work seen here of Dolores O Riordan of the Cranberries and Lady of the Shannon featured amongst others. Students were given a guided tour of LSAD where live studio action was viewed in each of the 8 departments. Students were accompanied by their Art Teacher Ms Beirne and Ms K Tyrrell.
Nenagh College were represented by Juliette Kerin and Katelen Ryan at this year’s Gradam Ceoil awards in Belfast’s Waterfront Hall on Sunday 23rd February. These students are part of the In Tune For Life Traditional Irish orchestra which was established by local outstanding musician, Ned Kelly. Ned was recognised on the night for his outstanding contribution to Traditional Irish music. His work with young people in the locality was particularly highlighted. Juliette and Katelen have played with the orchestra for some years now and both thoroughly enjoyed the experience of Belfast and were delighted to be part of such a noteworthy event.
