University College Cork and Cork City

Transition Year students and our Spanish exchange students in 5th year visited and took a campus tour of University College Cork and Cork City.
After completing their Career Investigations in class, meeting with visitors in school from  Higher Education Institutions, a trip to tour University College Cork  campus was arranged.
Why are college visits important?
Visiting college campuses  is an essential step in students college search process. Not only will it help students become familiar with the colleges , but it will also help them get a better understanding of what types of college are the best fit their unique needs.
For example, after touring a college in a large city, they might decide that they  prefer smaller college , like a Technological University or a Further Education and Training College. Students may visit a  small college only to realise that they might prefer an institution with a larger student body. In either case, touring a variety of colleges will help students hone in on the qualities that matter to them most.
With this insight, students will be able clarify what they are looking for in a college, as well as decide which institutions are aligned with their goals and needs.
