We gathered as a community yesterday to share and celebrate the examples of the core values in action that students had identified over the course of the week. Well done to all, especially those who used their creativity to capture the core values in poetry and art.

Special Summer Camp

TY students receive a talk from Mary and Aoife from the Special Summer Camp.
An overwhelming majority of TY students have signed up to volunteer in Nenagh College, where the Special Summer Camp will be held in July 2024. Well done to all involved.

John O’Meara Presentation

John O Meara a 6th year Leaving Certificate Applied student gave a presentation to parents and students in Nenagh College on Tuesday 12th March.

John demonstrates one of our core values: excellence,  he described some of the work he has undertaken in the last 2 years, including fundraising for the homeless and taking on a new challenge as part of his practical achievement task, he chose Fencing and has continued his fitness regime.

Dear Parent(s),  

You may be aware that Tuesday 2nd April is World Autism Awareness Day. Numerous events will be held around the globe to celebrate the day.  

At Nenagh College we are delighted to share in this global awareness and will celebrate the day on the last day of Ethos Week 2024, Friday March 15th.  

Ms. Crowe along with Ms. Devitt and the staff and students of the centre, are organizing a “colour run” to celebrate the day and to raise funds.  

Our choral group will arrange to provide treats and entertainment to the old folks in some of the local facilities, with the funds raised. 

All classes will take part in the run, on the school sports field at 12.30 p.m. according to the following:  

  1. All students can wear green instead of the uniform on school to Friday to celebrate Seachtain Na Gaeilge.  
  1. Students should change into old clothes, preferably a white T- shirt / shorts / tracksuit bottoms.  
  1. Each student must contribute €5 at the entrance to the sports field before the event. 
  1. Students will bring their clothes and school bag etc. to the run and leave the school grounds immediately after the run has ended.  
  1. Supervision class will be arranged for those students who do not wish to participate or who do not have a change of clothes.  

Trip to France

Nenagh College students, with their French teachers Ms. Naughton and Ms. Sammon,pictured enjoying their trip to France. They enjoyed many new experiences and got plenty of  opportunities to sample many different aspects of French culture, tradition and language.

 

ETB Ethos Week

An exciting programme of events is underway in Nenagh College to mark ETB Ethos Week. Today, all classes took time out to reflect on the core value of Community and how it is lived out in the school. First and second year students joined together in the canteen to enjoy a free sausage roll at break time.

French Trip Day 4

We finished off our trip with a stop in Brussels where we visited the European Parliament along with some sights of the city centre and some last minute shopping before catching our flight home.
