University College Cork and Cork City

Transition Year students and our Spanish exchange students in 5th year visited and took a campus tour of University College Cork and Cork City.
After completing their Career Investigations in class, meeting with visitors in school from  Higher Education Institutions, a trip to tour University College Cork  campus was arranged.
Why are college visits important?
Visiting college campuses  is an essential step in students college search process. Not only will it help students become familiar with the colleges , but it will also help them get a better understanding of what types of college are the best fit their unique needs.
For example, after touring a college in a large city, they might decide that they  prefer smaller college , like a Technological University or a Further Education and Training College. Students may visit a  small college only to realise that they might prefer an institution with a larger student body. In either case, touring a variety of colleges will help students hone in on the qualities that matter to them most.
With this insight, students will be able clarify what they are looking for in a college, as well as decide which institutions are aligned with their goals and needs.

Raku Ceramics Workshop

Our Transition Year students had a fantastic time exploring their creative side during a recent pottery workshop with the talented Thomas Woolen from Raku Ceramics. Each student crafted their own unique piece, which will soon be fired in our kiln and beautifully painted!

The 100 Million Tree Project

Thank you to our Transition Year students who have had a busy watering our newly planted trees for The 100 Million Tree Project. Our potatoes are emerging with the increase in soil temperature. Our vegetables are germinating and we have even been able to plant out some, we just need a little rain!

Thank you Conor Sullivan

A huge thank you again to former student Conor Sullivan who applied for IT support for the Nenagh College,  from his employer Regeneron as part of their community access scheme and has been successful in securing a laptop. Thank you to Regeneron and Conor for this amazing gift. We at Nenagh College are immensely grateful.

🌟 Discover the Magic of Chemistry with Our First-Year Students! 🌟

Our talented first-year science students have been hard at work, and we’re thrilled to showcase their creativity and knowledge through their fantastic Periodic Table poster! 🧪✨
Each student selected an element and brought it to life with unique and imaginative representations. Their projects highlight the fascinating properties and uses of each element in a fun and educational way.
This collaborative effort not only deepened their understanding of chemistry but also demonstrated the power of creativity in learning. We’re incredibly proud of their hard work.
Stay tuned for more updates and join us in celebrating the brilliance of our young scientists! 🌍🔬
