On Friday 24 November 2024 all 5th year and Transition Year students in Nenagh College engaged in a unique online experience. Readycon 2024,  in collaboration with industry experts, provided students with information about key trends and exciting opportunities in selected fields, streamed directly to their classrooms, so they can make more confident career decisions. It allowed students to discover the future of the labour market and uncovered the latest trends across the professional fields of:  Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Marketing and Management, Trades and Services, Healthcare and Finance.

Dr Laura Creevey

Dr Laura Creevey , school’s liaison officer visited all 5th years and gave a very informative and relevant presentation on the options available to students in Maynooth University and about university life in general. Huge thanks to Laura for coming out to talk to our students.

Giving Tuesday

Tuesday 28th of November is Giving Tuesday. As part of our SPHE classes, 2nd year students accessed the website “freerice.com” to play games where each correct answer generates a donation of 10 grains of rice or its equivalent to people in need. As well as general knowledge questions, students could also take part in games that tested their literacy and numeracy skills, as well as English vocabulary games that could be played through languages such as Romanian, Russian, Polish, and many more. If you have time today and would like to do something as part of Giving Tuesday please spend a few minutes on this website.
