Huge well done to all – the future is bright! 🌟

Transition Year Graduation

Students, staff, and families at Nenagh College were honored to welcome Seán Kelly, Member of the European Parliament for Ireland South, as a special guest at their TY graduation ceremony this week.

During his visit, MEP Kelly addressed the students, congratulating them on their achievements, emphasizing their huge success in reaching the Think Languages Final.

The students’ project, was showcased during the ceremony and featured creative presentations on global languages, cultural exchange, and the importance of multilingualism in today’s world — themes that resonated with Mr. Kelly’s own work in the European Parliament.

Mr. Kelly delivered a very inspirational speech to the students, commending them for their enthusiasm and commitment to learning. He also encouraged them to continue exploring languages and cultures as they move on to the next stage of their education.

As a final highlight, Mr. kelly  personally presented each graduate with their certificate, congratulating them individually and sharing words of encouragement for the future.

Third Year Tour

All 3rd years had a well deserved trip to Emerald Park Yesterday.
Teachers, SNAs and students alike thoroughly enjoyed a great day out.
We wish you all the best of luck as you sit your Junior Cycle Exams next week.

5th year Home Economics

5th year Home Economics students carried out sensory analysis testing on 6th years Home Economics students.
Group 1 tested crisps. Could students tell the difference between different brands. Interestingly they tasted the exact same according to the 6th years but they could tell the difference based on colour.
Group 2 tested branded orange squash vs unbranded to see which had the best flavour. The unbranded came out on top.
Group 3 tested taste buds to see if students could tell which coca cola was diet, zero and full sugar. 6th years were very confident going into this test but unfortunately not one was successful.
Group 4 tried different flavours of cookie dough ice cream. The cheaper brand won out.
It was a very enjoyable experience. Well done to the  5th year class who put in a lot of work to make it a success.
