Nenagh College would like to invite all parents to our Parent Council AGM on Thursday next October 6th @ 7.30 p.m.

As you are no doubt aware “Get Fresh” are now our canteen providers. Mr. Billy McGill CEO of “Get Fresh” will be in attendance at the meeting to discuss the company’s role in Nenagh College and to take questions from parents.

Ms. Bridget Roden, Educational Psychologist, will be our key note speaker. Her delivery will be on issues facing parents of 2nd level students today.

The newly constituted Parent Council are, on your behalf, serving the school in the role as full partners in the education enterprise in Nenagh College and we look forward to seeing you come out in support of them on Thursday night next.

On Friday last, September 23^rd, the now annual Cycle Against Suicide Ambassador School Awards ceremony was held at the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham. These awards recognised the immense efforts of 83 schools around the island of Ireland who have completed the Ambassador School Programme, and become actively involved in mental health promotion. The Ambassador School Programme, one aspect of a wide range of Cycle Against Suicide initiatives, is school-led, and involves the completion of “Five Gears” over the course of a year, all of which are aimed at raising awareness of the message that “It’s OK not to feel OK; and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help”.

Nenagh College was awarded the prestigious status of Ambassador School by Cycle Against Suicide in recognition of its fulfilment of the Five Gears, and its exceptional commitment to the promotion of positive mental health. The school was represented at the event by Link Teacher, Shauna Madden Murphy and students Emma Carey and Sarah Slattery. They are pictured with Jim Breen the founder of Cycle Against Suicide and the Ombudsman for Children Dr Niall Muldoon.

Nenagh College will be pleased to welcome All Ireland Champion and former student Barry Heffernan on a visit to the school on Friday 30th September. The Liam McCarthy Cup will also be on display.

Big Congratulations to Brian Naughton who won the Nenagh AC Most Improved Athlete Award. Well done.

Supervised Study starts in Nenagh College on Monday 19th September. All students are welcome.
