TY 1:1 Devices

The rollout of 1:1 devices in Nenagh College commenced this academic year, with TYs being the first year group to each have their own device.

The students are enjoying using their Lenovo hybrid laptops. They use them for most classes; for research, for communication, note taking and assessments through teams, for HTML coding and even to play a educational game or two such as kahoot and blooklet.

Rome- Day 3- Pompeii

Today, everyone was up bright and early to hit the road for the Ancient Roman City of Pompeii. The city itself rests in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, a once active volcano. Its most famous eruption took place in the year 79 A.D., when it buried the city of Pompeii under a thick 6 metre carpet of volcanic ash. The city is one of Italy’s most visited attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Our excellent tour guide Mauro brought us to Roman villas, public baths, an amphitheatre, shops, and many residential buildings. After some lunch in Pompeii, we travelled back to Rome where we visited the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain.

Rome- Day 2

After our adventures of touring the city on Friday, we used the Metro Saturday morning to reach Vatican City. Here, we got lunch in a German themed restaurant and then made our way to St. Peter’s Square where we lined up to enter St. Peter’s Basilica. This was followed by free time until our booking to enter the Vatican museum where we saw Raphael’s fresco The School of Athens and the Sistine Chapel with Michaelangelo’s world famous Last Judgement Scene. This was followed by dinner and the metro back to the hotel.

Rome Trip- Day 1

Day 1 of our Trip kicked off with a walking tour of the main attractions of Rome such as the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Forum. After a quick lunch, we toured the Colosseum. The was followed by some free time in Piazza del Popolo and then dinner. Finally, we returned to the Trevi Fountain to experience it at night. In all, 33,000 steps completed.
