Careers Exhibition – Scoil Ruane

Our Transition Year students were very fortunate to attend the Careers Exhibition in Scoil Ruane Kilanaule on Thursday, 23rd October 2025. We extend our sincere thanks to the Guidance Counsellor Ms Sinead O’Donnell and staff for their kind invitation and warm welcome.
Students had the opportunity to engage with representatives from a wide variety of colleges, training providers, and industries. Among those present were the National Ambulance Service, Irish Rail (Iarnrรณd ร‰ireann), Coolmore Group, the Credit Union, Tipperary ETB, AIB, and many more.
The event offered something of interest for everyone and provided an excellent opportunity for our senior cycle students to learn more about the many education, training, and career pathways available after school.
An informative and inspiring visit!

๐ŸŽƒ BBBS End-of-Term Shoutout! ๐ŸŽƒ
As we wrap up the first term, we want to give a huge shoutout to all our amazing Big Brothers and Big Sisters โ€” and to our fantastic First Years โ€” for engaging so enthusiastically in our BBBS mentoring programme!
We ended our weekly meet-ups on a fun note with a Halloween craft session, making mini pumpkins out of toilet roll cartons. (Itโ€™s trickier than it looks!)
Thank you all for the energy, laughter, and friendship youโ€™ve brought to the programme!

Geography Fieldtrip – Liscannor

Earlier this term, our 6th Year Geography students took their classroom learning outdoors for their field investigation along the stunning coastline ofย Liscannor Bay, Co. Clare. This practical study forms an essential part of the Leaving Certificate Geography course, allowing students to apply key skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation within a real-world setting.ย

The investigation focused onย coastal erosion, examining how the sea shapes and alters the landscape over time. Armed with recording sheets, ranging poles, clinometers, and wave count timers, students gathered primary data on wave frequency, cliff profiles, and evidence of erosion along the coastline. The dramatic cliffs and rugged shores of Liscannor Bay provided the perfect natural laboratory for this work.ย

Throughout the day, the students showed outstanding enthusiasm and teamwork. They worked closely together, sharing ideas, supporting one another, and ensuring that accurate results were collected. The groupโ€™s positive energy and great sense of humour made the trip both enjoyable and memorable. Laughter and teamwork went hand in hand as students balanced serious fieldwork with plenty of fun moments along the way.ย

u17 Soccer

Hard luck to our U17 soccer team who battled right to the end in a thrilling extra-time match against Newport College. ๐Ÿ’ช The lads showed incredible teamwork, spirit, and determination โ€” you should all be proud! ๐Ÿ‘

Maths Week 2025๐ŸŽฒ๐Ÿ”ข๐ŸŽ‰
ย
Thanks to all our students for participating in Maths Week 2025. Throughout the week students engaged in fun and interactive activities, from puzzles and games to real-world problem solving and competitions. This week gave students the opportunity to improve both their mathematical and team work skills, while also gaining insights into the history of maths, the connection between maths in our everyday lives and also future careers . A special thanks to our TY students who organised a Maths Fair for 1st and 2nd year students which had a range of activities that everyone could enjoy.
