Today, the 5^th year art students visited the National Gallery in Dublin where they attended an insightful tour of Contemporary Irish Image Exhibition which included works from Joe Caslin and other national greats including Louis Le Brocquy and Jack Yeats. The guides had a clear concise breakdown of the Leaving Cert question topic. The students were accompanied by their Teachers Ms E Knight and Ms Beirne.

Well done to all of the staff and students who participated in the Halloween Disco where 160 euros was raised in aid of the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association. Pictured here is Sorcha O’Mahony, Mary Lynch and Ms. Maharaj.

In conjunction with the HSE, the Nenagh College will be hosting a information evening for parents of 2nd year students focused on Learning about drugs and Alcohol Together Programme.

Well done to our 2nd, 3rd and 5th year music students enjoying a day at the Cork Pops Orchestra in the concert Hall in U.L.

Well done to the senior hurlers on an impressive victory in the Munster schools senior Hurling 1/4 final.

Ms O Keeffe organised 1A and 1B to come together to listen to a talk from Marie O Brien and Michela Heffernan who spoke about the Shoe Box Appeal. Business Students in Nenagh College take part in this every year. Students both in second level and third level will be encouraged to take part in the appeal and to volunteer in the warehouse in Nenagh.

Ms O Keeffe’s 6LCA Office and Retail students took part in an investigation of the retail sector in Nenagh. They interviewed managers and owners of shops in town and gained valuable knowledge about retail in modern Ireland. 6LCA students are really enjoying this new module which was introduced last year to the programme as part of the vocational specialisms. Thanks to all those who assisted with this task, a special thanks to Subway, NCBI, Finnertys Pharmacy, DV8, Slatterys Furniture and Clothing, Country Choice, The Pantry and many more.

 

Nenagh College 3rd year history students travelled to Dublin today where they visited Collins Barracks Museum and Glasnevin Cemetery. They were accompanied by Ms. Murphy and Mr. Cox. A great day had by all.
