Shanghai Easter Camp 2018

On Thursday the 22nd March, 108 Irish students and 10 Irish teachers left Cork airport for this year’s Shanghai Easter Camp. The group was led by Dr. Xu and 11 Chinese supervisors from Shanghai University who are currently working in the University College of Cork Confucius Institute. Nenagh College was represented on this trip by Transition Year student Dorin Girlea and Ms. Murphy.

During the 13 day visit to China, the group attended classes in Chinese language, economics, calligraphy and tai chi. They were also treated to many of Shanghai’s famous sights including visits to the Oriental Pearl Tower, The Bund, Nanjing Road, Huangpu River Cruise, and the acrobatics show at Shanghai Circus World. There was also an overnight visit to the cities of Suzhou and Hangzhou where the group visited Tiger Hill, a silk factory, the West Lake district and Pagodas.
