National Gallery Art Tour

Thank you to all Art 5th Years who took part in the Annual trip to the National Gallery Dublin on Thursday 16th. The most treasured work of Caravaggio The taking of Christ, with Louis le Brocquys Family, were among the works studied. Students also visited the National History Museum to view The Ardagh Chalice and Derrynaflan Chalice . Students were accompanied by their Art Teacher Ms Beirne.

Art Upcycle Workshop

Regina Egan  and TY Art Teacher Ms Beirne, facilitated an Upcycle Workshop on Wednesday Nov 15th. Shabby Chique Borrisokane supplied decoupage materials while student designed Slates from Portroe. It is hoped that collaboration will take place with the Nenagh Tidy towns project to create planters in the coming weeks Thank you to all involved in this worthwhile endeavor.

Open Evening Tuesday 22nd August

Nenagh College will be open on Tuesday 22nd August for parents of students in 2nd / 3rd / 5th / 6th year from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. to accept payments for lockers / Journals / Practical subject fees and book rental (book rental is available to 2nd and 3rd years only).

 

All Ireland Schools Athletics Competition

The All Ireland Schools Athletics Competition took place on Saturday 3rd of June in Tullamore. Two students from Nenagh College qualified for the competition. Brian Naughton finished 5th in the intermediate boys hammer. Joshua Delaney took home two medals, finishing 3rd in both the junior boys shot putt and discus. Congratulations to both athletes.
