Group photo of the North Tipperary/Midlands branch of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust who travelled to Lourdes at Easter for a week long pilgrimage/holiday.
Included in the group are two 5th year students from Nenagh College, Catherine Kitson and Lauren Hogan (2nd and 3rd from the right in the front row).
Both girls found the experience very enriching and were delighted with the opportunity to help out at the pilgrimage.
The group would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who sponsored or fund raised for this trip in any way.
Our Big Brother Big Sister first and transition year students were delighted to visit Fota Wildlife Park in Co. Cork for their end of the year outing. Accompanying them were Courtney Shanahan, Ciara McDonnell, Marley Delaney and Rachel O’Brien who organised the trip as part of their LCVP Action Plan

From 1st September 2017, there will be a change in class schedule for all students at Nenagh College. Teaching periods will last 40 minutes and classes will finish on Friday at 1.15pm. For further information, please see attached document.

On Thursday 11th May at 7.30pm in Nenagh College Sports Hall the Transition Year Students present;
“Nenagh College Lip Sync Battle”
There will be an act representing each year group – 1st – 6th Year.
Each year will be battling it out to win a free Pizza and Ice Cream lunch for their class!
Tickets: €5 for Adults and €3 for Students
ALL proceeds go to Nenagh Horse Riding for the Disabled Club.

Well done to Ahana Maharaj and Katie Whelan (5th Year Students) who baked and hosted the Alzheimer’s Tea Day today in the canteen in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland. They are pictured with here with Mary Ryan, representative from the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland’s Nenagh Branch. This fundraising and awareness event also served as Ahana and Katie’s Action Plan for their LCVP portfolio.
On Friday last, April 28th, Nenagh College celebrated another first, becoming the first school in the area to secure the Active School Flag.
The school has already been awarded three Green Flags for environmental awareness and in 2015 the school was awarded the Amber Flag for mental health awareness.
Speaking at the presentation of the Flag to staff and students, Active Flag committee leader and school PE teacher, Liam Heffernan (pictured below with his committee members) expressed his delight at the School being awarded the Flag. From September, Nenagh College, will be offering PE as a short course to students as part of the new Junior Cycle Course and Liam feels that the work required to achieve the Active Schools Flag will be of enormous benefit to the school when PE is introduced to the Junior Cycle in September.
In order to fulfill the protocols to attain the flag the school needed to engage with the wider community hosting a 5KM Community Walk on March 31st which raised 1,400 Euro for Nenagh Special Summer Camp.
A full week of activities was held at the school in April with every member of staff and all students engaged in a wide variety of activities from Martial Arts, Zumba Dancing, Wheel Chair Basketball and Wake Up, Shake Up work out at registration each morning.
The Flag will be officially unveiled at the Annual Awards Ceremony on May 12th by Brendan Maher, 2016 All-Ireland winning Captain.
