Jiu Jitsu Club

Another good turnout from the members of our Jiu Jitsu club on Monday. It’s fantastic to see all the familiar faces coming together for some training. Everybody is working hard on the techniques and it’s encouraging to see all the improvements being made.

A special congratulations
to Nenagh College student, Oskar Wietrzynski who took home Silver in the ‘Best of the Best’ kickboxing tournament in Dublin at the weekend. Oskar is consistently at training, works hard and sets a great example to the younger members of the club. Well done, Oskar.

Training will continue next Monday at lunchtime as usual. See you all there!

A Busy Transition Year So Far!

Our Transition Year Students had a very busy finish to our first school term. The TY group completed a difficult 24hr No Phone Challege, then celebrated their Junior Cert results with a trip to Fun World Limerick for Bowling & Arcade games. Leading into the Halloween festivities the group used their creative skills when taking part in Pumpkin Carving. Finally, Transition Year organised a whole school fundraiser and fantastic Halloween Disco for our 1st & 2nd Year Students which raised €428 for the Jack & Jill Foundation.

Well done Grace, Alice and Zofia!

Grace Kilgannon, Alice Kilgannon and Zofia Koloda, who perform with Musical Theatre Academy Nenagh (MTAN), won 2 All Ireland titles over the mid term break in Dublin.
MTAN became the All Ireland Variety Show overall champions, as well as becoming Show Choir Ireland National Champions in the O Reilly Theatre, Dublin. Well done on such an amazing achievement!

Stand Up Week

Nenagh College acknowledges Anti Bullying and Stand Up Week in line with our core values of care, equality, respect and community which are embedded in our Ethos. Student Council chairperson Charlie Williams is pictured with other Nenagh College students.  Stand Up Awareness Week was marked on Friday 10/11/2023.  Schools around the country were invited to take a stand against homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying. It is also an opportunity to take steps to make spaces safe and supportive for all young people.
