Student Enterprise Competition

We were thrilled to have Gary Lowe visit our TY students again to discuss their upcoming Student Enterprise Competition in Thurles on March 7th, 2025. Gary’s talk was both inspiring and informative, providing our students with valuable insights and practical tips for their entrepreneurial journey. His enthusiasm and expertise have certainly ignited a spark of creativity and ambition among our young entrepreneurs. A huge thank you to Gary for his time and wisdom.
Also to Tina Mulhearne (LEO) who continues to support enterprise education in schools, she is pictured here with our winning teams – 1st Sports Vault (Kyla, Amy and Grace), the wild card went to TBZ (Blanca, Zoe and Thomas), most creative concept went to Reboot (Boris and Adrian). Viktoria and Anastasiia received best stand, Darragh and Sebastian received best social interaction and Dawn who showed steadfast determination on the day. Well done to everyone for your active engagement.

LCANA Fergal Quinn National Award

We are incredibly proud of our three outstanding students, Brian O Connor, Roísín Thijssen and Faye Molamphy, who achieved the best results in their Leaving Certificate Applied exams in August 2024 and were honored with the LCANA Fergal Quinn National Award at the LCANA National Conference in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone, on 25th January 2025. 

Their dedication and hard work truly paid off, and this prestigious recognition is a testament to their exceptional achievements. Ms O Keeffe, the staff and management of Nenagh College would like to congratulate our brilliant students for setting such high standards and making us all proud.

Ag Science Trip

On Tuesday 18th November our 5th year Biology students and 6th year Ag Science students were accompanied by their teachers Ms Duffy and Ms Sugrue to Science Week in UL. The biology students attended an excellent interactive genetics session on “How NOT to get cancer” while the Ag Science students participated in a session on “Tinder for Cows”.

The online event, which takes place Tuesday 26 November from 7pm-8pm, is aimed at giving the parents of prospective students and guardians of school leavers the information they need to help their children make the right choices for them throughout the CAO process.

Students from Ms Beirne 2nd year Art class visited the Mna na hEalain “Unheard Voices”
Exhibition today as they design their Art Activist Lino Print Posters for Christmas
Exams.
This Collaborative Exhibit inspired students to design create and Craft their own Prints.

U16 Boys Volleyball

The U16 Boys Volleyball team, played an exciting match against Mungret Community College and Alfa Steiner SS. Although, they didn’t achieve victory, they showed great effort, teamwork and commitment. This experience will help them improve and achieve their goals for the upcoming years. Congratulations to all players involved and the great dedication showed

The last day of #thinklanguages

The last day of #thinklanguages week was a whole school event where Language and Sport got together.
Every year group got involved in our World Cup Soccer Blitz organised by the Champion Team with the help of their TY group.
Funds raised from the Blitz will be donated to the Irish Deaf Society.
The countries represented were India, France, Turkey, Germany, Italy, China, Mexico Canada, Spain, Greece, Austria, Poland, Ireland, Eygypt, Netherlands, Portugal, Wales and Japan.
Both the players and supporters enjoyed the event.
Mexico and Portugal made it to the final and Portugal were crowned the Winning Team, who were presented with what will now be a perpetual trophy as we look forward to making this a yearly Think Languages Event! Hazel O Donovan from The Champion Team presented Séamus Connolly, the winning team captain with the cup🏆
