Ms Tobin and Ms Carey’s second year Home Economics classes had an enjoyable trip to Butlers Chocolate Experience. They first looked at a film about the history of chocolate and the history of Butlers Chocolates. They then took a walk through the chocolate museum and had a look at the action on the factory floor. They ended their visit in the Experience room where they got to practice what they had learned to be a chocolatier and decorate their own chocolate Santa.
Best of luck to our TY Students Laura Corcoran, Aggie Mulqueen, Victoria Mulqueen, Chloe Madden and Chloe Kenneally who are competing in the AIB Build A Bank Challenge. Accompanied by AIB staff Andrew and Sharon, the group had their “Bank Launch” on Tuesday 29th November. Their School Bank will be open every Tuesday at Lunch time.
Congratulations to Nenagh College student, Denis Rohan, who was chosen to attend the Model Global Start – up Nations Summit, which was run in parallel to the Global Nations start – up Summit on 18th November last.
The Model Global Start – up Nations Summit is aimed at young people who have experience and knowledge in being an entrepreneur.
Facilitated by Foróige, LIT and UCC, the aim of the event was to create recommendations from young people which can be fed into the workings of the Global Nations start up Summit to effect change in over 80 nations.
This opportunity was the first of its kind offered to young people, affording them the experience of working and sharing ideas.
