Our First Year Students travelled to Limerick’s Hunt Museum

On Thursday 19th May they viewed the many Artefacts displayed . Students engaged discovering hidden gems by Picasso, Roderick O Connor , Sean Keating to name but a few.

Our class were also allowed access to the temporary exhibition by Renowned Irish Artist Stephen Lawlor .

Our tour continued with a bus tour of the many Drawout Murals in Limerick city including works by Maser, and Aches.

We would like to thank the hunt museum for a very educational and enjoyable morning.

TY Over Night Trip

Our TY Group recently had a fantastic Over Night Trip to Eclipse Activity & Adventure Centre, Kenmare. After 2 days of Obstacle Courses, Bog Runs, Kayaking and Team Challenges, it was a quiet bus on the journey home! Well done to all TY students who gave it their all throughout the 2 days and thank you to Miss Hartnett, Mr Macken & Mr Quinn for accompanying the group.

Success for Juliette at the Tipperary Fleadh

Nenagh College would like to congratulate 5th Yr student Juliette Kerin, who competed in the Tipperary Fleadh Ceoil held in Cashel recently. Juliette qualified for the Munster Fleadh Ceoil in the following categories
-Trad Flute
-Trad Flute – Slow Air
-Tin Whistle
-Tin Whistle Slow Air

This is a fantastic achievement and the result of much dedication and hard work.
We wish Juliette the best of luck in the Munster Fleadh Ceoil which takes place in Newcastle Wet in July 2022

Tipperary Fleadh success for Emma

Nenagh College would like to congratulate 5th Yr student Emma Fitzgerald, who competed in the Tipperary Fleadh Ceoil held in Cashel recently.  Emma was placed first in the following categories –
-Under 18 Banjo Solo
-Under 18 Mandolin Solo
– Misc Tenor Guitar
-Bodhrán solo accompaniment
This is a fantastic achievement and the result of much dedication and hard work.

VEX Robotics Competition

On Tuesday 18th of May, TY and 5th Year Nenagh College Students participated in the VEX Robotics Competition in Dell Technologies. The students spent the last few months designing, building and coding their VEX robot during their lunch time. The students were very successful at the Robotics Competition making it to the semi-finals. For parts of the competition our students had to work with students from other schools. This built confidence, team-building and communication skills.  It was a very enjoyable day and a learning experience for all.

TY Home Economics

TYs very creative today in Home Economics with our Irish staple food. They were given the task of cooking potatoes in a variety of different ways. They made wedges, potatoe cakes, hash browns, French fries, potatoe cubes, mash and roast potatoes.
