Drop Everything and Read

This week from 1.10pm to 1.20pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, staff and students at Nenagh College will be taking part in the ‘Drop Everything and Read’ Initiative. Students are invited to bring in books, magazines or newspapers of their choice to read for 10 minutes. Students can also borrow a book from the school library which will be open at break times. We believe that developing a love for reading will help foster student’s imagination, creativity and confidence. Reading helps expand our use of vocabulary and language skills in all subjects. It is a simple form of stress reduction and escapism which can help to improve mental health. This shared experience will promote a thirst for knowledge and develop an interest in different cultures and experiences in both fiction and non-fiction.

“If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.” – J.K. Rowling
